Here are some ideas for warp concepts. One is sorta magic crystally. The two sci fi looking things on the bottom right are in case we want to go in a more technological direction with this. I imagine those devices would make the same sorta glowing green stuff that the crystals are making.

So I was thinking it might be cool if one of the things that you can equip further along in the game would be “Magic Arms”. They would look like the character’s regular arms but when they’re casting a spell the appearance of them would change to fit whatever spell they’re casting. In this instance, the characters’ arms would look normal until he casts a lava/fire spell. Then the arms would heat up and grow molten lava rocks on it as the spell is being cast. In between spells/attacks the arms could cool off and slowly go back to normal. I figure this might be a good use of the dissolve shader that you wrote. We could do cool shit with glowy tattoos/snow ice/whatever you can think of. I dunno. I thought it was a cool idea. Lemme know what you think.
Got our own custom cube map reflection shader working! W00t! Now we can have really shiny, pretty items to pick up.. Whats cool is it uses a fresnel effect on the reflection, which means it gets more reflective the more glancing off an angle you view it from. AND, since its cube map “reflections” its very cheap and fast to render. YAY!
