Finally!!!!!!!! . . . I have been having a pretty hard time coming up with a solution that can handle all the different menus / gui elements / combat hud / etc and keep track of keyboard input between each thing. WELLLLL I came up with a solution that works stupidly good, like really good, so I am happy with it. Everything is falling into place.
